Dominion peek as he works from home
JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION, the third installment of the JURASSIC WORLD trilogy, will find Owen (Chris Pratt), Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), and others dealing with the fallout of JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, which found dinosaurs now freely roaming the American wilderness and urban areas. Like every other production out there, the spread of COVID-19 forced principal photography on JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION to shut down earlier this month, but that doesn’t mean that director Colin Trevorrow can’t get some work done in the comfort of his own home.
Colin Trevorrow, who also co-wrote the script with Emily Carmichael (PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING), shared the following little peek of JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION in Instagram while he works on the film from home.
Not much to see there, but in these dark times, we’ll take anything. JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will also feature the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, and Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler. Colin Trevorrow discussed why the time was finally right to bring back the original JURASSIC PARK trio last year, and why they weren’t included in the first JURASSIC WORLD film.
We’d have had to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm and Grant all went to the theme park on the exact same day it broke down – again. The next film allows the legacy characters to be a part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it ‘Jurassic Park VI’, because it is.
Although we caught a glimpse of Jeff Goldblum in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, we haven’t seen Sam Neill and Laura Dern since JURASSIC PARK III, nearly twenty years ago. “You start asking the most basic questions: who are these people now? What do they make of the new world they’re living in, and how do they feel about being part of its history?” Trevorrow teased. “Ultimately it will be in collaboration with the actors. They know and love these characters. We’ll do it together.” JURASSIC WORLD 3 is set for a June 11, 2021 release, but depending on when production is able to resume, that date may very well change.
